FUTA; 12 Students Benefits From United State University Collaboration

About 12 students of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) are set to benefit from the collabortion between FUTA and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), Tallahassee, USA.
FAMU is recognized for providing a high standard and affordable education to many students who are helpless, the opportunity to fulfill their dream of getting a college degree and, also for fostering social and economic opportunity.

These students are the 3rd set of students that will be benefiting from the collaboration, and they will be joining the American University to study various courses.

UNIPORT Releases UTME First [MERIT] Admission List

University of Port Harcourt authority has released the first batch merit admission list 2015.

INCREDIBLE! OAU SUG Pays School Fees For 85 Students

The Obafemi Awolowo University TY-led Student's Union Government has set a remarkable history following the announcement of the union's completion of payment of school fees for indigene students.

These students benefited from the student's union scholarship scheme program of which about 85 of the students benefited from.
The Public Relations Officer of the union, in person of comrade Ojedokun Emmanuel who made this known via his facebook account expressed that this was to seal and execute their promise which was made at the pre election and during the election period. He also attest that the welfare of the students would not in whatsoever be sacrificed for a stable academic calendar and also called for the immediate renovation of the hostels to stop the unhealthy lifestyle lived by some students living in the hostel.

Also, the Vice President of the union is said to be working on an on-going tutorial mostly for the 100level students to address the issue mass failure and offer academic welfarism.

UNIOSUN RELEASES 2015/2016 MERIT ADMISSION LIST

The Merit list of admitted candidates for 2015/2016 Admission into various degree programmes has now been released.
Candidates who participated in the 2015 Post UTME screening exercise can now check their admission status via the University Undergraduates Admission portal. All admitted candidates are hereby directed to pay the sum of twenty-five thousand naira (N25, 000.00) only as Acceptance Fees for the Provisional Admission offered.
Payment of the Acceptance Fees is by the UNIOSUN WebPAY platform through the use of Interswitch enabled Debit/ATM cards (Verve, Visa and Master cards). The deadline for the payment of Acceptance Fees is September 25, 2015.
Any candidate who fails to complete the Acceptance Registration on or before the deadline will FORFEIT the Provisional Admission offered.

FUT MINNA Withdraws 28 Students Over Poor Academic Performance

The Federal University of Technology, FUTMinna has withdrawn 28 students for poor performance and being absent for two semester examinations.
The approval for the withdrawal of the students was given during the 398th meeting of the university Senate.

The analysis of the students shows that 8 of the students were from the Department of Risk Management and Development Studies; 15 were from the faculty of Engineering, 2 were from the department of Animal Production, 1 student each from the department of Geology, Estate Management and Valuation and Biochemistry.
One of the students was withdrawn due to overstayed studentship of maximum allowable periods of semesters; 4 were given voluntary withdrawal due to their absence in the first and second semester examination without official permission, while 23 were withdrawn due to poor academic performance.

The withdrawal of the students was contained in a statement issued by the office of the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the
University.

2 UNILORIN First Class Graduates Bag Bukola Saraki Scholarship Awards

Graduating with a good grade from the university has a lot of benefits attached to it and gives you the edge among others. This has made two (2) First Class Graduates of the University of Ilorin benefited from the Dr. Bukola Saraki's Scholarship Award Scheme.

Both fortunate students, Adam Muhammad Ndakuku and Muhammad Abdullahi Tosin studied Law in UNILORIN. They are indigenes of Edu and Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara state respectively.

Student nabbed for giving female colleague cake laced with Indian Hemp

The Police in Delta-State have arrested a male undergraduate student of Delta State University, Abraka for allegedly giving a female student cake laced with Indian hemp. Police spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu made it known in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday in Asaba.

In her statement, she said that a male student from the University reported to the police in Abraka on Sept. 2 that Bassey Aniekan, a male student of th university gave the cake to the female student, aged 17., that after eating the cake, the victim started behaving abnormally and was admitted in a hospital for treatment.

Police spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu also disclosed that during interrogation, Bassey confessed that he added Indian hemp to the ingredients used in baking the cake. "The suspect admitted to have used Indian hemp to bake the cake which he gave the victim; we are still investigating the matter," Kalu said.

See how a female student of a popular polytechnic was arrested with GUN!

A female student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been apprehended by the men of the Ogun State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS for being in possession of a locally-made gun.

The 20-year-old lady disclosed that she is in ND 2 department of Mass Communication. She was arrested on the 29th of August at Ifo, around the hour of 11.45pm, while travelling in a mini-truck with one Sikiru Kelani. The lady was among the suspects paraded by the Ogun State police commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali, on Tuesday at the state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The lady was weeping bitterly as she was speaking with the news men, she said it was unknown to her that Kelani had hid the gun inside her bag. She said that she knew Kelani, a self-confessed member of Bucaneer confraternity, through her late boyfriend, Akeem, who was also a student of MAPOLY department of Marketing.

According to her, "On the day I was arrested, I
came from Lagos to attend the candle light
procession organised for my late boyfriend,
Akeem, in Abeokuta.
"After the event, I went to my friend's place where
I had intended to pass the night, but she had
travelled out of town to Ijebu Ode. It was at this
point this 'street brother' (Sikiru Kelani) to my late
boyfriend, asked me to pass the night in his place.
"I was already sleeping when he woke me up
around after 9pm, and said we are travelling to
Oshodi in Lagos. I was baffled because it was
already late".
"He lied to me that there was problem in the house,
and we had to leave. He told me we should use the
opportunity to attend a party being organised by his
friend in Lagos. On our way, he stopped to see
some people at Ori Iyanrin in Abeokuta. That was
the last I knew about the case."

Kelani also spoke with the newsmen, he confessed
to be the one who hid the gun in Oreoluwa's
bag immediately he spotted the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS on the highway at Ifo.
He made it known that he was on his way to Oshodi, to attend a friend's party when he and Oreoluwa
were arrested.
